Old Hickory Village Community Garden  First Baptist Church Old Hickory is sponsoring this community garden space as an outreach to the neighborhood. The church has donated the use of the land at 1105 Hadley Ave, across the street from the church building. All neighbors are invited to help in the garden or participate in related activities including classes about gardening, composting, healthy cooking, preserving, and field trips to other local farms and gardens. The Old Hickory Village Community Garden will 1) allow families to grow their own food in a 4 x 12 foot plot, 2) provide for families in need, 3) educate families and children about growing food, and 4)encourage children/teenagers to engage in a pastime theycan be proud of. A non-profit organization chartered in 1986 for the purpose of providing emergency food, clothing, and financial assistance as well as referral services to persons in need in the Old Hickory area. The Center is a joint venture of nine churches including First Baptist Church Old Hickory. (If you order from the website yourself, you will need to pick up your own order) Our “Church Plant,” Friendship Community Church, is pastored by Rev. Todd Stevens, and is located in Mt. Juliet TN. They meet in Lakeview Elementary School every Sunday at 10:30am. They are a relaxed church with a relaxed atmosphere. Their Mission: To continually grow in love for God and others, joyfully serve them, and intentionally lead others to do the same.
 Four Corners Ministries  In 2007 & 2008, our church participated in missions trips to Tegucigalpa, Honduras. Others have taken trips to Venezuela and to the Gulf Coast for hurricane relief efforts.
