Old Hickory Village Community Garden

First Baptist Church Old Hickory is sponsoring this community garden space as an outreach to the neighborhood. The church has donated the use of the land at 1105 Hadley Ave, across the street from the church building.
All neighbors are invited to help in the garden or participate in related activities including classes about gardening, composting, healthy cooking, preserving, and field trips to other local farms and gardens.
The Old Hickory Village Community Garden will
1) allow families to grow their own food in a 4 x 12 foot plot,
2) provide for families in need,
3) educate families and children about growing food, and
4)encourage children/teenagers to engage in a pastime theycan be proud of.

Angel Food Ministries

Angel Food Ministries is a non-profit, non-denominational organization dedicated to providing food relief and contributing to benevolent outreaches in communities throughout the United States. Angel Food is available for $30 for a regular box.  Generally, one regular box of  food assists in feeding a family of four for about one week or a single senior citizen for almost a month. Each month's menu is different than the previous month and consists of both fresh and frozen items with a retail value of approximately $60.
If you (or the person you would like food delivered to) lives in the Old Hickory area, First Baptist Church can pick up and deliver food boxes for you - Call 847-3447 to arrange your order.  If you do not live in the Old Hickory area, or if you would like to place an order directly from the Angel Food website you may also that.    (If you order from the website yourself, you will need to pick up your own order)

Friendship Community Church

Our “Church Plant,” Friendship Community Church, is pastored by Rev. Todd Stevens, and is located in Mt. Juliet TN.  They meet in Lakeview Elementary School every Sunday at 10:30am.  They are a relaxed church with a relaxed atmosphere.  Their Mission: To continually grow in love for God and others, joyfully serve them, and intentionally lead others to do the same.

Souls 4 Souls

They have a simple mission: to impact as many lives as possible with the gift of shoes.  They are encouraging churches, youth groups, and small groups to get involved by collecting shoes in order to make a huge impact in their own hearts and lives around the world.  These are the shoes your family has that are just hanging around.  The footwear industry makes a matching new shoe donation for each used pair donated.  Contact them via the website for details on how your group can coordinate a shoe drive.

Four Corners Ministries

In 2007 & 2008, our church participated in missions trips to Tegucigalpa, Honduras. Others have taken trips to Venezuela and to the Gulf Coast for hurricane relief efforts.  Four Corners has been instrumental in coordinating those efforts.  Below is a video that tells of the 2007 trip to Honduras from the perspective of some of those who went.
