FIREBIRD Robotics
San Marino High School, Team 1160
ABOUT US
Firebird Robotics (Team 1160) competes annually in the FIRST Robotics Competition. FIRST (For Innovation and Recognition of Science and Technology) is an organization dedicated to encouraging young people like us to become science and techology leaders. Every aspect of the team is student-run, but we listen to the advice of our advisors and mentors.
We're not just a group of "techie nerds"! Our team would like to include the help of students from the ROP classes as well as anyone who likes designing, marketing, presentations, or anything else you can think of! We are currently in our 9th week for the FTC build season. Our shooter design is coming along nicely, and we are in the process of finding an effective way of mounting it. Last year's season was amazing, from the 6 week build season to the two regionals we attended. At the Los Angeles Regional we ranked 7th out of 51 teams, and at the Las Vegas Regional, we ranked 7th out of 49 teams. We also played in both quarterfinals as the alliance captain team (the team in charge of selecting it's partners for the final rounds) for alliance 8 in LA and alliance 7 in LV. Check out more on our news page! Last years' game was called "Lunacy" and we had 6 weeks to build the robot. To view the animation for last year's game, click here. Check out our blog. | ATTENTION ALUMNI!
