Salmiakki (sal ammoniac) is one of  the Finnish specialities. It is a salty licorice candy. Salmiakki is a black candy with a sweet and sour taste. You will either love it or hate it but remember to taste it!
 
Our foreign members have recommended Finnish "omenalimonadi" (apple lemonade, with almost the colour of cola drinks) and originally Swedish "Pommac" (mixed fruit lemonade). You get them from supermarkets.
 
Taste also Finnish "Rili - Arctic Black Taste", a soft drink with the flavour of tar. You can buy it from many K Shops. More details at http://www.rili.fi.
 
The famous Finnish film director Aki Kaurismäki partly owns restaurants Corona (bar & billiards, address Eerikinkatu 11), Nightclub Dubrovnik (New York -styled lounge & lobby, address Eerikinkatu 11) and Kafe Moskova (a small Russian style bar, address Eerikinkatu 11) in Helsinki.
