FinKraft will once again host a training camp in Tucson, AZ in 2012. This is a perfect opportunity to build your base fitness and train like a pro.

Let me first thank those of you who support FinKraft and have committed to this camp the past two years. It is your dedication and enthusiasm that has ensured its great success. We strive to continuously improve our camps in an effort to bring you an unparalleled training experience. This year’s camp will be the best one yet, so we hope you will be able to join us in experiencing yet another great training camp with FinKraft this coming winter.

Location: Tucson, AZ

During the winter months, Tucson is home to many a professional cyclist.  Protour and Domestic pro teams alike organize training camps in the area, and for good reason.  Tucson’s dry, pleasantly warm winter climate is the ideal environment for putting on the base miles. We anticipate temperatures ranging from 65 – 85 degrees during the camp. Our goal is to make you feel like a professional athlete while you are with us. We are here to help you to focus 100% on training. This camp is simply the best way to prepare you for the spring classics and make you a better athlete for the upcoming season.

Daily Training Rides

Tucson offers unparalleled rides that are ideal for winter training. Rides typically range between 4-5 hrs. However, there will also be a 6-hour long "queen stage" for you to contend with.  Rides include: Kitt’s Peak (7000ft/12 mi), Bisbee via Tombstone, Gate’s Pass, and more. All of these rides feature amazing scenery and character.

Near the end of the camp we will embark on Roger’s favorite ride: the legendary Mt Lemon!  9,000 ft of epic climbing in 30 miles!  As the final ride of the week we will join the world-famous local “shoot-out” ride for some speed and fun.

Nightly

Nightly activities include: Post ride evaluation (HR/power), training and racing tips. Recovery and stretching techniques or just some "chilling" in the pool or hot tub and reflecting on the days ride. We will also organize sport-specific strength and conditioning demonstrations. Relaxation and recovery is extremely important in a training camp environment.  Our gorgeous and peaceful accommodations allow you to rest and prepare for the next day’s training ride.

Additional  Services

  • Massage therapy available daily (additional fee applies)
  • Laundry will be done for you daily on location
  • Opportunity to test certain cycling related equipment
  • Presentations from industry professionals during the camp – details TBA
  • Retul bike fitting on site

All Meals included

We provide you with the ideal foods to fuel your body in a training environment. For breakfast,  our nutritious and delicious meal plan includes oatmeal, eggs, toast, fresh fruit, coffee, etc.  For the rides, sandwiches are prepared in the morning and various energy bars, gels, and sports drinks will be available.

Dinners consist of a healthy variety of lean proteins and complex carbohydrates to fuel you in the best possible way for the next day and aid recovery. Those of you who have been to our camps know all about Kim's cooking and healthy food; These camps would not be possible without her incredible enthusiasm and hard work.
