I work from photographs to  create  your colored pencil portrait. If you are local, I prefer to have my husband come and do a photo shoot at your home. The sitting is free of charge and will take approximately 1 hour.  If you are out of town and desire a sitting, the session will be free, but travel expenses will be added to the cost of your commission. Having a quality photo to work from ensures the best results for your portrait. 

If you prefer to use your own photos, digital images are great, because I can edit them to get a good image to work from. When choosing photos, photos with good contrast between light and dark are best. Photos with closeups of the facial features, especially the eyes, make good photos for me to work from. Also, try not to choose photos where the subject has a big smile, choose one that has a natural expression for the person. This will help ensure that you get a portrait that most closely represents the person. 

All portraits are delivered to you matted and  in a quality frame. Prices start at $200 for a 14 x 17 size portrait. Each additional subject add 50%. Backgrounds add 20%. Contact me for additional information.

A 50% deposit is due at the start of your portrait.
