Help find Philip McNeil

12/12/2008

Philip McNeil (aged 25) went missing in Yellowknife on the 1st of October 2008.

He had finished a full day of work at the Jackfish Power Corporation, met with his doctor at 5.30pm, we assume that he then went back to his place of residence as his work boots and work pass are still with his belongings, this also suggests that he did not leave for work the following day. After that we have absolutely no information as to his activities or location.

We urge anyone who may have any more information about the evening in question or any knowledge of our brother’s whereabouts to please, please contact us.

Philip is 5.10 has dark blonde hair that may appear strawberry blonde in certain lights and in the summer time. At the time of his disappearance he was clean shaven.

There has been much speculation and conjecture but no concrete leads that have lead us to finding Philip.
The RCMP have been unable to conduct a ground search as there is no ‘last known location’ from which to begin.

One thought was that he may have decided to spend some time in a camp and if so he may be due to now return to Yellowknife. From what we understand most camps work on a ‘few months on, few months off’ basis.

It is also possible that Philip may have decided to just walk away and begin a new life. If this is case… Phil, we understand, but please just a phone call or something to let us know you’re okay, you have no idea how much of a hole your disappearance has left in all of our hearts,  you are never far from our minds.

G: I miss you more then anything...I wish you knew... what I would do for another bear hug...& for you to tell me it’s gonna be ok.”

There are still so many unanswered questions... wherever you are Phil, keep safe and know that we love you, nothing would make us happier than to hear from you soon, Happy Holidays bro! xx xx

November 2008

Phil who is 25, disappeared from Yellowknife, NWT around October 3rd. He did not show up for a Doctor's appointment he had made for October 3rd and apparently did not go back to work or his home. There is very little information as to where he went or what happened.

Philip is described as a Caucasian male, 5-foot-10 and around 240 to 250 lbs. He has reddish blond hair and was last known to have a beard although he does shave it often.

While it is possible that Phil met with tragedy in early October, we have every reason to believe that Phil is alive. It is highly likely that if he were the victim of tragedy or accident, he would have been found by now as he has been missing for more than a month. This is not the case. The majority of October saw very good weather and minimal snowfall. A friend of his has confirmed that Phil was in search of some property in need of restoration where he could shelter and continue his hobby of building and restoring.

If you are in contact with Phil, please tell him, his family are desperate to hear from him. They are prepared to assist him in any way that he may need help.

We have spoken to a logistics company who received a job application from Phil in September and believe it is possible Phil has gone to work for a mining or logistics outfit in a remote area. If you are able to help us with information about a firm that may have been hiring in early October please get in touch urgently.

The investigation is in it's early stages. If you have spoken with or seen Phil in the weeks leading up to October or since, your insights would be greatly appreciated.

Phil is part of a large family and needless to say, they are desperate for news of his whereabouts and information that will help us to find him. If you have critical information on his whereabouts please contact the Yellowknife RCMP on (867) 669-5200.

Alternatively you may leave a comment below or email: findphil@philipmcneil.com or call +44 1752 774086 and I will pass information on to his family and friends.

You can also speak directly to Simon in Yellowknife on (867) 446-0717.

A big thank you to Northern News Services for the coverage that has helped to generate many new leads.
