Illya and Dieter,  both in our forties! Dieter has a very supportive girlfriend while I have an understanding wife. We have entered the TransRockies 2010 Challenge because we think it would be a great thing to do before we both get any older (not that we are old, right!). And we'd like to think we will be pretty good at doing it too.

 

We have both been mountain biking for a good few years now and while we have entered a few events most of our riding has purely been our hobby and having fun. Between us we have covered most of the UK plus Spain, France, Austria, and Morocco. But it seems as we are getting older we are getting more serious. This is our latest 'being serious', the TransRockies 2010 Challenge. We are so serious that we have already booked and payed for our places in the event August next year. As a side effect to our serious'nous we like being fit and doing stuff on our bikes that most 'ordinary' people our age would never dream off. It is not just big kids on mountain bikes hurtling down mountains (ok big chunky hills) I also snowboard while Dieter skis and surfs.
