What are the advantages of using Blogger?
- Good privacy settings; students had the choice to create their blog on "private" and then they were able to only allow people they know to be able to read and comment on the blog
- Easily integrated with Google Sites
- Easy to read and review several posts
- Ability to add photos
- Provides a setting where students can use written academic language - increase awareness of formal vs. informal language

How can you integrate Blogger in your classroom?
- Students can write their own blogs analyzing literature they are reading in class
- Can be as a tool for students to reflect what they have learned
- Teachers can maintain a blog where the students critically respond to a question or an online article
How do you get started using Blogger with your students?
- Go to https://www.blogger.com/start
- Sign in with your Google Account
- Select Create a Blog
- Give your Blog a title that relates to you and your project (every student within the group must create and maintain their own blog)
- Chose your template
- Select Continue
- Select Start Blogging
- Working with your Blog
- Dashboard:
- Takes you to your home screen of blogs
- You can add posts, view posts, and change you settings, layout, and account information through the Dashboard
- Add a Photo:
- You can add a photo that represents you to your blog
- Creating a New Post:
- Select New Post from the Dashboard
- Give your post a descriptive title, write, spell-check, and publish your post
- Changing Comment Settings:
- Change your blogs so that anyone can comment on your blog
- Go to Settings, Comments, and then change “Who can comment” to anyone?
- This does allow anyone to comment on your blogs, but you can always delete unwanted or inappropriate comments.
- Deleting Comments:
- View your blog, then select on the comment
- If you want to delete a comment, select on the trash can
- Then, delete the comment
