What is the Web 2.0 Project on South Florida Oceans and Beaches about?
- Integrates key elements of the 7th grade curriculum, reading, writing, math, science, and social studies, into the required Computer Applications class through completion of a comprehensive project using Web 2.0 Technology
- Students were divided into collaborative groups that worked to mesh the technologies with subject content for a presentation on the topic of South Florida Oceans and Beaches

- Science - density, tides, weather, pollution, properties of water, sand, shells, ocean floor topography, waves, seaweed, wildlife, sea life, plants
- Spanish - creating a beach scene with Spanish beach vocabulary, descriptive essays in Spanish about the beach
- Art - water color paintings of the beach at day and night
- PE - researching beach sports and creating a poster or brochure
- Civics - civic policy of the local area beach
- History - segregation at the beach
- Field Trips - water testing behind the school (http://worldwatermonitoringday.com/), local beach visitations, overnight trip to Sanibel Island
