The FLDS Church is not to be confused with the LDS Church or any other fundamentalist Mormon group. The FLDS Church was legally founded on February 6, 1991 under the leadership of Rulon T. Jeffs, but was a non-legal entity as early as the 1920s under the direction of Lorin C. Woolley and John Y. Barlow. The FLDS Church differs from the LDS Church in doctrine, scripture, and practice.
This website will not be covering the history of polygamy and different schisms that occurred over the years. Instead, this website discusses the differences between FLDS doctrine while comparing and contrasting it to mainstream Christianity and the Bible. If you are interested in the history, feel free to read or purchase you own copy of The Polygamists: A History of Colorado City, Arizona by Benjamin G. Bistline. I only ask that you would the name of the ministry ("Redemption - A Ministry To FLDS Mormons") as the source. Also, please include the web address you retrieved it from. |
