Our Home
We closed on our first house on November 15th 2006. We bought this 1830’s multi-family home with my brother. My brother lives on the 1st floor, my husband and I occupy the 2nd and 3rd floors. We knew this was the home we were looking for within the first few minutes! The interior of the home had been updated throughout, and the lot had lots of yard, outdoor storage, and parking!
Living Room
This is my favorite room in the house, as it is the room I have done the most work on and made it my own.

Color is Benjamin Moore "Wedgewood Gray"
I love our built-in entertainment center, we hide all the DVDs, etc in the cabinets below.
Dinning Room
This room is the next to get new furniture. We want a new dinning room table that expands to seat more than just four people, and my Aunt is going to build us china cabinet to store all the great things we recived as wedding gifts (some day, she could take a year to get around to it, and another to finish it, but we love her just the same).

Coming soon - I have since painted our table black and painted the walls a cream color
Kitchen
The Kitchen was the only room that was not taken down to the studs and re-done by the previous owners. We (meaning Husband and his Dad and Dad's friend) replaced the windows first and then gutted the whole room January 2008 and redid the whole thing here are some BEFORE & After shots.
If you want to see a more step by step view of our remodel here is the link to my Kitchen Remodel web site:
Before photos:
October 2007 New Windows. We replaced the full size window (behind diswasher) with a much smaller one, when we remodel the sink will be under this window.
AFTER - Still not 100% done yet more photos to come

New Bedding is on the way from Pottery Barn - the bedding below was from C&B and I am very disapointed in the quality - never buy bedding from C&B!
Bathroom
The paint color was already perfect for the bathroom decor I had in our apartment. I love all the storage space right inside the bathroom.
moasic tile mirror I made, hangs above the toilet
Guest Bedroom / My Office
The Guest bedroom doubles as my office space. The huge closets makes hiding all my crafting things, etc. out of site. We have to use the built in book shelfs for glassware storage since we have no room in the kitchen or dinning room. Hopeful with the addition of a china cabinet we can reclaim this space for books. This room was already yellow, I don't love it, but it worked with the beding I already had for the room, so it stays yellow untill the room is needed as a future nursery.

March 2008 Update - Redecorated!
I painted this room BM Franklin Lakes (classic color collection)
I got a new desk from Ikea, this summer I plan on painting the supports to the desk white to match the trim, and possiably refinish the bed with white paint as well.
I am using this (cheep) Ikea dresser as storage for art supplies and desk storage.
I downsized my books (most went up to the attic onto a very yucky bookcase I won't use anywhere eles in the house). I need a china cabinet one day to house all my extra glass ware, but for now it looks pretty here.
Office - Greg's Space
The 3rd floor room is my Husband's space, and has been a work in progress ever since, despite the mess, the paint job in this room made a huge difference. He likes to make piles and leave them for months on end, oh and start projects and never finish them. Oh well, one must pick their battles. The other half the the 3rd floor is attic storage space.

DH's tribute to his two faviorite Boston sports teams' The Boston Red Soxs and Boston Bruins
DH pointing out one of his famous piles. I tease him because he has gotten a lot better about cleaning up his piles, however some of the hardware on the built-in-dressers in this room still has not been replaced and the paint dried about a year ago.
Attic Storage Space
The attic makes living in about 1,000 square feet possible!
This was before we filled all this space with all our "stuff". Now it looks like boom when off in here, so that is why there are no after photos.
Got to love all those built in shelfs!
Outside
We have three sheads on our property
1st shead with garden to its right. The left side can fit a small sports car or boat, we have neither so it remains unused. The right side was a workshop, we store gardening tools, & bikes in there.
The 2nd shead is closest to the house so we keep the trash & recycling bins here. In the photo is the seller's agent, the house inspector, and my brother. This pinic table does not get much use because we have another area were we hang out....
The 3rd shead was a play house, we store camping stuff and outdoor cooking supplies down below, we don't have much use for the 2nd story right now :-) We have added a grill and outdoor table that seats six.
Summer of 2008 we are going to get some electricity out here - the old fridge from out kitchen will move into the 1st floor and have a 2nd life as a summer beer fridge!
Kitty-Cats
Meet Trot & Maverick
Trot (yes as in Trot Nixon) joined our family shortly after we moved in, we think he was about 6 months old. He is very active kitty when he is awake. He can be very dog like, he follows me from room to room when I am home, and talks alot about nothing at all! He is so active we got him a friend in Septmeber 2007. Trot's new friend is Maverick (yes as in Top Gun) his b-day is June 25, 2007. He is still a little guy, and super cute and cuddly. Mav and Trot are getting along well.
