Q: "How is FOW different from most other organized Sabbatarian churches?"
A: Unlike many typical organized Sabbatarian churches, we are not an institution with a human authoritative head. We do not need a head man because Christ is our head, and our only head. We are a fellowship group which focuses on teaching the love of Christ, and we encourage freedom of thought without judgement over one another.
We understand that the individuals who make up our congregation are not "ours", but Christ's. Therefore, we encourage that God's people attend any Feast sites and/or events of other congregations as they are led by the Holy Spirit.
We are not under any authority other than the Father and Jesus Christ, therefore we can make decisions within our own congregation without asking for permission from some distant headquarters. We do have a minister and board who all understand that they are servants of our Lord, and our minister is not treated in any special way other than with the same respect given to everyone.
Although we strive to maintain organization in our services, we are not rigid in our service styles, which vary. We sometimes have traditional style sermons, and other times we have interactive Bible studies which encourage individual participation. Our music also varies from traditional hymns to contemporary praise and worship. We also often meet with other congregations of like minded people, and put aside some minor differences in order to focus primarily on the love which our Messiah is teaching us.
We do not take up regular offerings, but we appreciate anyone who wishes to help contribute to our expenses. We also occasionally ask if folks would like to contribute to one of our "Love Missions", in order to help out folks in need both locally and abroad.
We are a small but very caring group. We regularly have 15-25 folks joining our services, but occasionally also hold combined services which can reach over 50 in attendance. Some travel up to 1.5 hours to be at services and cannot come every week.
