We wrap up 2009 with a 24-hour Sprint celebrating the birthday of the man who invented Hellschriber, Dr. Rudolph Hell. He was born on December 19th, 1901 in Eggmühl, Bavaria, Germany and worked in Berlin and Kiel as a scientist, engineer and entrepreneur. In 1929, he founded Dr.-Ing. Rudolph Hell GmbH, where he developed the Hell Recoder, a “device for electrically transmitting written characters”; the Klischograph, a printing block and engraving machine; the KF 108 fax machine; the Chromagraph scanner; and the Digiset typesetting machine.
