Always On Mothers Day Weekend
Celebrating the Harvest of the Strawberry with great food, contests, shopping and exhibits with kids entertainment all Mothers day weekend!
Johny 5 Productions plans to bring as much Strawberry to BerryFest as possibly Strawberry on May 12 and 13, 2012 at the Placer County Fairgrounds in Roseville, CA on Washington Blvd.
We won’t ship in any Strawberries. Local farmers will harvest extra strawberries just for us. These are certified organic and local from Placer County and some bordering counties such as Sacramento, El Dorado, Yuba Santa Cruz and Sutter Counties. We will also pre-sell Strawberries at wholesale prices to the vendors of the festival to insure all Festival Strawberries are local grown.
All Strawberries are sold by the Farmers themselves.
BerryFest, Festival of Strawberries is dedicated to "the best mother, the best wife" My Mom, who was the first girl to ever love me. And to my Dad who was forced to be mom and dad when we lost our mother and raised my two sisters and I from when we where two months old to seven years old all by himself.

Boy Scouts Pancake Breakfast - $8
This year Roseville Boy Scouts will be providing a hearty breakfast of hot pancakes, sizzling sausage, steaming coffee, fresh orange juice and wholesome milk. Start your day off right with a filling breakfast of Strawberry topped Pancakes and get into the Festival ahead of the crowds. Come to the Placer County Strawberry Festival before 10:00 a.m. and your $8.00 breakfast ticket includes free admission to all the day long fun of the Strawberry Festival. Breakfast served from 8:00 a.m. til 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 12thand Sunday, May 13th. Remember Sunday is Mother’s Day and the Strawberry Festival would be a great place to go and get her an amazing breakfast served by a Boy Scout!
Fun Fact: If you laid all of the pancakes cooked by the Boy Scouts at the last Strawberry Festival side by side they would almost encircle the Fairgrounds.

ENTERTAINMENT:
Caboose Stage in the Comcast Kids Zone:
Okay, Kids fun zone stage is booked. The stage will be headlined by Izzi Tooinsky's
little giant Theatre, Magical Moonshine Theater, and the "Little Family Band". So there
is the best local one man show around, a world reknown puppet theatre, and a rock
band for kids, with an environmental message. Izzi Tooinsky will MC the Kids zone
all weekend long.

Strawberry Classic Car Show: Sunday Only
17 Judged awards and 3 Strawberry Choice awards will be given out.
One "Strawberry Classic" award will be given out to the Cruiser whose car looks the most Strawberry.
That can mean either the most Strawberry red paint job, or with the most Strawberry themed decorations (Ballot judged by Cruisers).
Awards will be given out at the Beer Garden at 4pm.
Farmers at the Strawberry Festival:
Did you forget this was a "Harvest Festival?
We will have only California Strawberries at this event along with the Sierra Fresh Farmers market.
They will be located at the entrance to the event so you can see or buy the fruits and veggies on
your way in to snack while you visit or if you want to load up you can buy on your way out.
Strawberry Shortcake eating contest:
Though not everyone can enter, this is an amazingly fun event to watch.

For the health conscious, Did you know that just 8 strawberries have more vitamin C than a medium orange or that strawberries are a good source of folic acid? Folic acid is important in fetal development.
For the sweet tooth, Strawberries are their sweetest when fully ripened on the plants. For most varieties this means leaving the berries on the plant for a day or two after they are fully colored. The only way to know for sure is a taste test.
For the guys, Do you think Strawberries are to feminine for you? I know they are red. And they can look like a heart. And their referenced with girly holidays and gifts. And Strawberries are definitely a fruit which I guess could be considered more feminine than Vegetables. :o) But think of how delicious they are, not to mention the fact that women love them and festivals . It's obvious that bringing that lucky lady in your life here would be a win win situation. So treat the special Ladies in your lives to a Mothers day stroll through the Strawberry Festival as her gift. Let her pick out her own Mothers day gift at the Fair and be patient, Fathers day is not far away.
Did you know Strawberries are the only fruit that carries their seeds on the outside.
Strawberries bruise easily. Be gentle when pulling them from the plants. Snap the stem directly above the berry rather than pulling on the berry itself. Keep harvested berries in a cool, shady location.
