Student Loan Network Scholarships

Below are scholarship resources that the Student Loan Network offers to help First Coast Technical College students make college affordable, especially in times when affordability and access is on everyone's minds.

Student Scholarship Search is our directory of scholarship opportunities that we've found all around the Internet, from the full rides of Berea College to the obscure Tall Persons scholarship. We're constantly adding new scholarships, grants, and other opportunities to our directory, and unlike most other scholarship directories, students can browse and search our site without having to divulge any personal information.

Scholarship Points is our own scholarship program. In exchange for filling out surveys, making YouTube videos, and other whimsical activities, students who register for Scholarship Points can win a thousand dollars from our random drawing every month.

You can see who has won so far and the institutions they've come from here:

Twice a year, we go all out and offer a ten thousand dollar scholarship as well, as our way of saying thanks to everyone who supports us. Entering the Student Loan Network 10K takes less than a minute to enter, making it one of the easiest scholarships to apply for.

Finally, a personal favorite of mine - about a year ago, I wrote an book (eBook/PDF) called Scholarship Search Secrets, now in its fourth edition, about how to use Google and other Internet tools to locate scholarships (and not pay a financial aid "consultant") on the Web. It's been downloaded over 35,000 times so far and at least one student, Nolan H., has reported that using the eBook, he's raised nearly fifteen thousand dollars in scholarships since March 11, 2008, enough to pay for his first year of college.

Here's the best part - the book is completely free. No personal information to divulge, nothing to buy. I invite you to grab a copy for yourself and your students!

I hope that your students at First Coast Technical College can make use of these scholarship resources. I wish you the best for a great remainder of the summer and a successful fall semester, and hope to see you at one of the many financial aid conferences in the near future.

Best wishes,
