What if I do not have a diploma?
Students who do not have their high school diploma or GED can still receive financial aid. After completing the TABE and meeting program guidelines, you must take another test called the Wonderlic. This exam measures your skill levels to ensure you can comprehend and benefit from your course work. This is called an "ability to benefit test" and is required by the State of Florida and the Federal Department of Education. Once you take the Wonderlic, it can take 2-3 weeks for your results to arrive. Please be sure to plan enough time to take the test & await results prior to your selected entry date. Students without a diploma or GED are encouraged to contact the FCTC Adult Education Department for information on enrolling for High School Completion or GED Preparation classes. Students can work to obtain their diploma or GED at the same time they are attending their vocational classes. Schedules are normally half of the day in Adult Education and half of the day in your vocational class. Or, students can attend Adult Education evening classes (when available) after a full day of vocational class. If you are a Financial Aid recipient, your assistance would be adjusted accordingly, to 75% or 50%. Palatka Campus 386.385.0024 St. Augustine Campus 904.547.3434 |
