To teach leadership skills to the campers,
that they might more successfully resist pressures
from the media, from their peers,
and even from their own temptations.
We want to strengthen them
so they will avoid making choices
that do not support the development of a Catholic Christian identity.
To offer experiences of trust-building and team-building
with other young women, so they develop the communication and planning skills
that play a large role in fostering the development of leaders
To offer opportunities for ministry.
We will visit with elderly people
at the Grand Islander nursing home
and knit scarves for homeless or very poor people.
To teach ways of praying that will help young women
develop a good relationship with God.
To create a life-giving, wonderfully fun environment
in which each camper may be affirmed
for the gift she is to the Church and the world.
