The spatio-temporal analysis methods of the brain electric fields are applied to spontaneous EEG as well as to event-related potentials in different sensory and cognitive tasks. Many ERP studies are carried out in collaboration with other local and international groups specialized in the given domain.

Our own interests are focused on the speed of cognitive processing, and on the state-dependent information processing, i.e on the influence of the momentary state of the brain on the subsequent processing of a stimulus. Thereby, synchronization and desynchronization of neuronal activity, particularly in the alpha frequency bands play a crucial role.
