How To Reach Us

Bible Reading

Our children's program for grades K through 6 is an Olympian Club through Word of Life Children's Ministries. The philosophy of Word of Life is:

Reaching youth whose needs constantly
change with Biblical truth that never changes!

Our goal is establishing biblical habits that will last a lifetime.

A typical club meeting starts with our pledges, motto and theme song. Next is an exciting quiz time over the previous week's Bible lesson. After a time of praise and worship in song, we have a Bible lesson which may include a skit, puppets, object lesson or audience participation. Then we break down into small groups by grade and gender, called Personal Training or PT time. There you will find lesson applications, prayer and share time, working on scripture memory or Christian service activities, and one-on-one counseling and encouragement. Finally, we have an awesome game time followed by snacks, announcements and dismissal.

The Olympian Bible Study teaches biblical principles in an exciting format that captivates students. The lessons are built upon the Word of God and provide a complete survey of the Bible over a six-year time period. During our Personal Training time, coaches expand on applying the Word to everyday life resulting in obedience and equipping them for service.

Each Olympian has a Quiet Time Adventure to help develop a personal relationship with God through His Word and prayer. The Quiet Time gives extra facts to increase understanding of the passage, a daily activity and passage with application, plus a diary for prayer requests.

Scripture memory is another component of club. The verses the Olympians memorize come right out of the lessons, again reinforcing what is taught in the lesson. By connecting scripture to life's needs and problems, our goal is to sin less, witness more and encourage others.Reading good Christian books is important for children today. Some of the many benefits include introducing Godly examples, reinforcing truths that have been taught from the Word of God, and Increasing faith (If God can work in and through the individual I’m reading about then surely He can do the same for me). At Olympian Club, we provide a library and encourage students to read three books each club year.

Christian Service activities help develop a “servant’s heart” in the lives of our youth. Through planned group activities and suggested individual projects, Olympian Club helps develop a habit of serving God through others and gives the sense of joy that comes in serving others.

A favorite activity every year is the Scarecrow Daze parade. In the weeks before the parade, the Olympians paint banners and work on the float construction, prepare treats to hand out with an invitation to club, and pray for various aspects of the event. During the parade, we present our club to the community and invite others to join in

Every spring we have Olympian Sunday, where the youth are encouraged to explore different areas where they can serve their local body.

As in the Olympic Games, our Olympians earn medals at the end of club year based on their faithfulness to biblical principles. As each level is completed during the year a certificate is rewarded. Those who earn consecutive gold medals can also earn trophies.
