10 REASONS WHY YOU SHOULD LOVE YOUR CHURCH
1. It Glorifies God - I Corinthians 10:31
It is clear that God loves His church, and when we love the things He loves, it brings Him honor and glory.
2. It Shows Faithfulness to Scripture - Mark 12:30-31
Loving God and one another are not optional. When we obey His commands, it reveals our desire to be faithful
to His Word.
3. It is a Great Witness to the World - John 13:35
The world is watching the church! In all the church does (programs, fellowship, business meetings, etc.) there
should be genuine Christian love.
4. It Unifies the Body of Christ - Psalm 133:1
The members of God's family should love and submit to one another for the sake of unity.
5. It Creates an atmosphere of vibrant and meaningful worship - Psalm 95:1-2, 6-7
Notice the use of "us" in these verses. When love and unity are present, it makes the worship environment
more powerful and substantial.
6. It brings proper and rightful edification - II Thessalonians 1:3-4
The Thessalonians loved one another. That love led to powerful words of encouragement. Christian love leads
to edification and healthy pride.
7. It promotes genuines cares and concern among the Body of Christ - I Thessalonians 3:1-2
When you genuinely love someone, you take time to care for and minister to them.
8. It fosters church growth - Ephesians 5:2
People want to be in a place that they are loved. They want to know that, no matter what, someone will listen
to them, care for them and share the truth of God's word with them. When true, biblical love is present, there
is a difference in the air of your church.
9. It breeds excitement - Psalm 122:1
No one wants to attend a lifelss and cold church. WHen love and a healthy sense of pride are present, people
will want to be there.
10. It puts the focus where it belongs - Phillippians 2:3-5
The focus of the church should be on the Lord and other people, not on ourselves. It's easy to focus on the
wrong things: selfish, agendas, personal preferences, prideful ideas, etc., when the true focus needs to be on
the Lord and others. The church should be a place marked by grace and truth, where we accept people as they
are, but tell them like it is. Love never waters down the truth, but embraces truth and genuinely flows from it.
