My Homepage

Hello and Welcome to my research and teaching profile! This is a resource for my students to access course notes and related information. This page also contains links to some of my research projects.

I am currently pursuing my Ph.D. in Computer Science at Colorado State University, Fort Collins, Colorado, USA under a Fulbright scholarship. My primary area of research is Bioinformatics and I am working with Dr. Asa Ben-Hur.

I have also done some research on machine learning applications in biomedical signal and image analysis. Some other areas that I have played with include biometrics and evolutionary computation.

I was previously working as an assistant professor in the Department of Computer and Information Sciences (DCIS) at Pakistan Institute of Engineering and Applied Sciences (PIEAS), Islamabad, Pakistan. You can also find and download some course material from the courses I have taught there.

Apart from my 'scholarly' activities, I love watching movies, reading novels by Robert Ludlum & Tom Clancy and playing volleyball. I also like to watch soccer and to hike.
