Q: Where are the Painting Merit Badge Workshops being held? What are the dates? A: All classes are from 3pm – 6pm. They are held in the Training Room at Home Depot.
Q: How can I sign up for the Boy Scout Painting Merit Badge? A: Please have the customer fill out “Registration List for Painting Merit Badge Workshop”. This is on a first come, first serve basis. If the registration is full please see next question.
Q: If the registration list is full, how can a customer sign up? A: Show the list of participating stores to the customer. Please see “List of Participating Stores, Dates, Contact Information for the Painting Merit Badge Workshop” 1) Offer to call the other stores to see if they have room to accommodate the customer. If customer is not interested or not available, please see answer number two… 2) Have customers sign up for the waiting list. Please see “Registration Waiting List for Painting Merit Badge Workshop”. Let the customer know that we are running a pilot. If demand is great, we will hold a second painting class at this store location.
Q: Will you offer other Merit Badge opportunities in the future? A: If the demand is there, we hope to offer quarterly Merit Badge workshops. Have the customer sign up for the future interest list. Please see “Interested in Future Boy Scout Merit Badge Workshops” and have the customer fill out which merit badge they wish to be contacted about in the future. It is okay to have the customer write in “all” opportunities. Let the customer know that you will contact them of the next workshop opportunity.
Q: How much are the BSA Workshops? A: They are free to Home Depot Customers and their Scouts.
Q: Who is teaching the workshops? Have they been Merit Badge Certified? A: Home Depot Store Associates will teach the workshop. They are Certified Merit Badge Counselors and will be able to sign off the Scouts Blue Card for completed work.
Q: Why are we partnering with the BSA organization? A: Home Depot wants to give back and connect with its local community. Home Depot is currently piloting quarterly workshops in the area so Boy Scouts can complete training and activities to earn merit badges.
Q: Who can attend a Boy Scout Workshop? A: Any currently Registered Boy Scout on a first come, first serve basis looking to earn their Merit Badge. If we have room in the class, we welcome any Parent or Adult Scout leader.
Q: Why is the workshop limited to 15 Boy Scouts? A: The workshop is limited to 15 Boy Scout Participants due to space constraints.
