Welcome to 4-H Fayette County, Pennsylvania Benefit Auction

WHAT IS THE FAYETTE COUNTY,  PENNSYLVANIA
4-H BENEFIT AUCTION?

The 4-H Benefit Auction is a yearly event held during the Fayette County Fair. It is run by the 4-H Advisory Committee, 4-H Benefit Auction Planning Committee, and other volunteers.

Donated items from local businesses are collected by 4-H members, leaders and volunteers. The items are then auctioned off by a professional auctioneer to raise money for the Fayette County 4-H Development Fund and the new Scholarship Program.

Last year, 2008, the auction raised over $9,000. All of the money went directly to help Fayette County 4-H members with 50% going to the Development Fund and 50% going to the Scholarship Fund. Many Fayette County youth have benefitted from these funds.

4-H Members showcased in this news-letter have benefitted from the 4-H Benefit Auction by receiving scholarships or attending 4-H events where the Development Fund has paid 75% of their way.

WHAT’S THE 4-H SCHOLARSHIP?

  • A $500 scholarship for eligible 4-H members and past 4-H members who are attending college or a trade school*
  • This scholarship is available to members from any club.
  • Scholarships awarded so far:  2006—5     2007— 4      2008—10
  • With everyone’s help we can see this great opportunity continue to grow!

WHAT’S THE FAYETTE COUNTY

4-H DEVELOPMENT FUND?

The development fund helps support all 4-H programs in our county. Did you know that Fayette County 4-H members only pay 25% of the costs to attend regional, state, and national 4-H events such as State Capitol Days, State Leadership Conference, State Achievement Days, National Congress, Southwest Regional Teen Leader Retreat, etc. The Development Fund pays the rest!
