Two PhD and Two Research Master students are required to work in the electrical and electronic engineering department, Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP), Malaysia. The studentship is open to all local,UK, EU and the rest of the world students with a good degree (80% or above of average results). The project is funded under eScience by Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI), Malaysia For PhD/Master student 1: She/He must have strong background in embedded systems, image processing, digital signal processing (DSP). A good knowledge on various types of sensors and software programming skills in MATLAB and C are essential. Optional requirement: the student has knowledge and experience on circuit design and testing on circuit board; modelling and simulation using SPICE. For PhD 2: She/He must have strong background in embedded systems, holographic, digital signal processing (DSP). A good knowledge on software programming skills in MATLAB and C/C++ are essential. Some knowledge on neuroscience. Optional requirement: the student has knowledge and experience on circuit design and testing on circuit board; modelling and simulation using SPICE. For Master student 2: She/He must have strong background in image processing, digital signal processing (DSP). A good knowledge on software programming in MATLAB is essential. A good experience on Excel is also ideal. Optional requirement: some knowledge on petroleum and well logging. Students will require exceptional interpersonal and communication
