Fall 2009 Errata List

If you find things that are unclear or errors of any sort in the Fall 2009 edition of Foundations and Applications of Statistics, list them here.  Please fill out the list as follows:
  • name: your name (so you get credit)
  • page: number of page where problem occurs (pad with 0's to make it 3 digits so things sort properly)
  • location: where is it on the page?
  • type: what type of error is it (typo, math error, unclear, suggestion, etc.)
  • error/issue: what is wrong? what's the question? how should it be fixed (if you know).
  • resolution: leave this for me.

Tim 186 in the last part of lemma 4.4.1,  typo I think it should read "for all w E ( - oo, oo )" fixed 
Tim 219 near the bottom of the page typo stored in rdata as rmultinom(n=5000, size=468.....) -should read size=486, since 486 golf balls had a number between 1 and 4 fixed. 
Tim 079 Example 2.7.1 typo "The table below lists tallies the number of fumbles" -too many verbs fixed.
