A NECCESITY, NOT A LUXURY - HOLIDAY GRANTS 2012

Welcome. We hope you find our web site simple and informative.
Our aim is also to encourage and inspire support for our work which is entirely dependent on voluntary donations and to help make applying for a grant painless and relatively easy.
The Farrell Trust can often provide a small grant to help make that essential break or respite in the UK possible.
OUR CRITERIA & APPLICATION FORM CAN BE DOWNLOADED by highlighting and clicking at - Who do we Help and How to Apply in the Blue Box to the left of the screen.
The Trust does not receive any central or local government funding.  The majority of our applicants will be in receipt of  income support and disability living allowance and will be desperately in need of our support.
Everyone likes to go on holiday or have a break. Few people these days see taking a holiday or having an essential break as a luxury. For most it is a necessity – a break from the stresses and strains of life.  For disabled people and their carers respite breaks are often a god send and life line! Just imagine not having had a single break for 10 or 15 years. Stories like these are not uncommon to us.
Quite simply, this is why the Farrell Trust exists. To assist disabled people to have a much needed day trip, holiday/short break/ or respite care that they otherwise wouldn’t have…..to be able to afford to visit a relative that they haven’t seen for years, access essential respite care, or simply have a holiday break of a few days or longer with the family and friends.  These are just a few of the many requests we support.
For many disabled people life is a constant struggle. Having a break is a necessity, not a luxury. It gives everyone that essential respite and the strength to carry on. Although there is a huge need for respite breaks in the UK many disabled people find the cost beyond their limited means and a small grant from the Trust can make all the difference.
