Farkit

Tastes great, and is less filling

Homepage -> Farkit

 Where to get it

Farkit is available on addons.mozilla.org. Just go to the Farkit page there, and click the "Install now" link.

 Quickstart

Farkit adds two things to Fark.com forums: quoting comments, and inserting HTML images/links.

To quote a user's comment, select some text. Then right click and select Farkit from the popup menu. The quote is inserted in the comment box, and the page scrolls there. To quote without scrolling, hold the Shift key while clicking (or press Control-Shift-V).

To insert an HTML image or link, first copy the address into the clipboard. Then go into the comment box, right-click, and select Farkit Paste (or just press Control-Shift-V). To linkify existing text, select it before doing the Farkit Paste.

Tips

  • Instead of selecting Farkit from the popup menu, you can just press Control-V.
  • To prevent the page from scrolling, hold down the Shift key when clicking the Farkit menu. Or just press Control-Shift-V.
  • You can quote the headline just like a user's comment! It's attributed to "Submitter."
  • Farkit Paste can extract an URL embedded in other text. For example, select & copy "xxxx http://foo.bar/ xxxxx", and it will only paste the http://foo.bar/ address.
  • Farkit tracks how many quotess you have made. You can see your stats in the extension's options (under the Tools -> Extensions menu).

FAQ

How can I other HTML stuff to my comments?

Farkit isn't trying to be a general-purpose tool for adding HTML markup to comments. Other extensions, such as Fark Tags or Farkode, do have tools for working with HTML.
