We have obtained permission from the Knoxville News Sentinel to post the following article which was published July 28, 2011.

The Vance and King relationships have been tracked back to the last half of the 18th Century.  In the first part of the 19th Century, James Vance and Margaret King were married.  Margaret was one of Eli King's daughters.  Our genealogy section has research notes and information about descendants of this union.  Currently this information is under review by the Vance descendants who are correcting errors.
