Psalm 3:13

But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called Today, so that none of you may be hardened by sin's deceitfulness.

Welcome to Our Church

We are a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America.

At Family of God, our name says a lot about who we are... a safe place where you are welcome to ask questions, seek answers, explore who you are, and help others in the name of Christ.

Family of God has been part of Buckingham for over 30 years.  Started as a mission congregation of the Lutheran Church of America, Family of God has been where it is today since 1990.

Family of God offers a variety of ways for people to grow in faith -- ways that fit our busy lives.  We offer two styles of worship on Sunday -- one a more traditional Lutheran liturgy, the other a blend of traditional and contemporary elements.

We seek to embrace diversity and oneness in Christ as we embrace traditional and contemporary expressions of Christianity.

We belong to the Lutheran tradition -- one which affirms that caring about God and caring about people go hand-in-hand.  We affirm both through our Core Values and our Vision.

Our Core Values

Faith.  Trust in the Lord is the heart of Family of God.  There are many opportunities to grow in faith.

Love.   Without love we are nothing.  Love grows here and is nurtured by a caring community.

Family.  Everyone is a child of God, and here relationships are created, encouraged, and supported.

Prayer.  Family of God is a praying community.  Prayer is the foundation of meetings, Bible studies, service projects, and fellowship time.

Our Vision

We believe God is calling us to be a church where:

  • Vital, vibrant worship inspires people to live out their faith.
  • People work together to meet community needs in the name of Jesus Christ
  • People of all ages are spiritually nurtured and grow in the Word.
  • Youth are encouraged, supported, challenged, and appreciated.
  • People joyfully invite others to know the Lord and his church.
  • People are open to the stirring of the Holy Spirit
