The 2009 Recipient of the Jane & Wayne Dexter Award:
Cathy Kaye The Jane & Wayne Dexter Award is given annually to an individual in recognition of their outstanding service to CBC. Implicit in this service is a dedication to CBC principles and a belief in the value of public service to one's own community. The award is named for the late Jane and Wayne Dexter, who for more than 50 years were catalysts for progress in our community. The Dexter's devoted much energy to CBC and to many other civic causes, fostering the tradition of good government and quality education that we enjoy today in Falls Church. The Dexter Award was first given in 2001, when Edie Smolinski, long a close friend of the Dexter's, chaired the selection committee that chose Ed Strait as the inaugural awardee. The selection committee each year now consists of all the previous Award winners. Jane & Wayne Dexter
