Dance Department

Did you know that you need a PE credit and a Fine Arts credit to graduate from High School?  Dance classes at VHHS can be used as a PE credit or Fine Arts credit!  Students will participate in Jazz, Ballet, Tap, Creative Movement, healthy lifestyle education, and composition.  Dance attire will be required.  Fundraising opportunities will be available to fund all expenses.  

Introduction to Dance, Year long/1 credit, Grades 9-12, Introduction to Dance can be used as a Fine Arts or PE credit.  This is an introductory class that covers many styles of dance and many elements of physical education. 

Dance I, Year long/1 credit, Grades 9-12, Dance I is designed for students with some dance background.  The dance theory will be the same as Introduction to Dance, but the dance level of difficulty will be higher and adjusted to the level of the class members. 

Dance II, Prerequisite: Dance I or Introduction to Dance, Year long/ 1 credit, Grades 10-12 Prerequisite: Dance I or Introduction to Dance.  Dance II can be used as a Fine Arts or PE credit.  This class covers many styles of dance and many elements of physical education.  Students are expected to perform at their technical level on a daily basis.
