Priests for Life Announces Year-Long Preparation for 40th Anniversary of Humanae VitaeThis website, which is produced by HLI, is dedicated to priests who have refused to tolerate silence on the moral plague of contraception.
Pastoral Message on the Occasion of the 40th Anniversary of Humanae Vitae. from the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops The Plenary Assembly of the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops (CCCB) is taking advantage of this 40th anniversary to invite the faithful to discover, or rediscover, this prophetic document focusing on "the transmission of human life...a most serious role in which married people collaborate freely and responsibly with God the Creator,"1 a matter that is "intimately connected with the life and happiness of human beings."2 We encourage Catholics to deepen their understanding of the original text of this encyclical (www.vatican.va) in order to meditate on and to integrate in their life this important teaching.

From Priests for Life CanadaReverend James Whalen,
Why Is the Issue of Contraception so Important to Being Pro Life? Contraceptive Love or real Love? Ethics Morality and Catholic Life July 25th marks the 40th anniversary of Pope Paul VI's encyclical Humanae Vitae, which is essentially a re-iteration of traditional Church's teaching on contraception. As it turned out, HV turned out to be an incredibly prophetic document. For insights into this, read a Pastoral Letter written by Archbishop Charles Chaput: Pastoral Letter written by Archbishop Charles Chaput: "Contraception has released males—to a historically unprecedented degree—from responsibility for their sexual aggression."

One Last Time - Canada's Greatest Defender of Humanae Vitae Calls on Bishops to Reject Dissenting Document TORONTO, July 25, 2008 (LifeSiteNews.com) - In the upcoming edition of Catholic Insight magazine, Canada's greatest defender of the Pope Paul VI's encyclical Humanae Vitae - 92-year-old Monsignor Vincent Foy - concludes his lifelong championship of the papal position on birth control. Released today, on the 40th anniversary of the encyclical, Monsignor Foy calls on the Bishops of Canada to revoke their "Winnipeg Statement", which he says is an unacceptable document of dissent.
John Pacheco has long been a defender of Humanae Vitae and has written numerous articles on this topic. He even organized a Humanae Vitae Conference in Ottawa a few years ago. Many of his articles dealing with the subject can be found on the following link: http://therosarium.ca/indextemps/articles.html
In one of his latest articles on the subject, John introduced a paper by Monsignor Vincent Foy, our oldest veteran who valiantly fought in favour of HV. The article is entitled: "Contraception & The Moloch Generation". A characteristic of the Moloch Generation is a loss of the sense of sin. If one can absolve oneself of guilt in practising contraception why not from other breaches of the moral law? ….The contraceptive mentality brought with it a grave depreciation of the evil of killing or preventing offspring."
