Baked Pear

(苗大厨)
preheat oven to 350 degrees

6 Bosc pears, ripe but not too ripe
peel pears, stand them up in a oven-safe dish

3/4 cup fruity wine
3/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup pomegranate juice (can probably substitute with cherry juice)
1 teaspoon lemon zest (optional)
1 or 2 cinnamon sticks

put these in small pan and boil until sugar dissolves, pour the juice over the pears in the dish and put into oven.

Baste the pears with juice every 15-20 minutes.

Should be ready in an hour or so.  Test with a toothpick.  Pears are done when they can be easily pierced through.

Take the pears out and put in a dish.  Boil the juice in a pan on medium fire until it starts to thicken, about 5-7 minutes.  Stir it every once in a while.  Sauce will bubble if not stirred.

Pour sauce over pears and serve.  :-)
