Because Chelsea lost to Arsenal 2-1 the day before, Liverpool had the chance to move 3 points ahead of Chelsea for sole posesion of first place.  Liverpool had a strong first half with a couple chances to score but could not capitlize on any opportunities.  It was apparent how much the English team missed their star striker, Fernando Torres.  After 90 minutes the game ended as it began, 0-0.  Although Liverpool did not capitilize on their chance to move a full 3 points ahead of Chelsea, the still gained one point moving them into first by one point.
