REVIEW of Ewen's Latest mix The zany craziness of Jacobino, a well-heeled track of toothsome goodness, at the opening of this set ... Posted 05/11/08 by macpromikem promises good things to come and the seque into the amazingly danceable Que Pasa proves just that. From the sound of the Samba by Webber, one might think they were in Cuba - but a Cuba as envisioned by Mariela Castro, who wants everyone to be free and dance..... And then you've got the Rock On track, always emmenintely enjoyable, followed by the one ever-so-slightly-becoming-over-played remix of The End (which in and of itself is a great piece and certainly works in the theme Cameron is developing here ..... however, please DJs, give that Door's track a nap). Next up is Cameron's own rework of Noel's Heartbeats, but this is a racked-up electronosis version with a heavy banging hand to it that melds nicely into tribalesque Drums on Fire, enough beat to keep any head-bobber dancing happily. The next duo of tracks have you back to a housey beat and you can feel the joy and the drive to get up and dance - if you had decided to try to rest after the tribal number. Superlative mixing then brings on the Fiesta Electronica where the Latin flavor infuses your blood with a sweet Sangria spirit heralded by trumpet flares and the lyrics to "walk, talk, and sing like me" urge you to do just that. Soon the last track approches and now your are getting up to get down to the beat - and party on! Bravo! Muy bueno! Magnifique! Get ready to GET UP and dance! Five stars!
