EWB-UH's First Newsletter: October Issue

Please find attached our first EWB-UH Newsletter. These newsletters will be released monthly which will include news on our projects, supporters, and events.

End of September Update

This has been a very productive week.

EWB-USA and COE grants have been completed by Ting and Ryan.
The Peru project was kicked off on Wednesday.
Nicaragua travel team was formed.
Tickets for the TOT Chai Bistro Fundraiser are being distributed.

Mid-September Updates

-Fundraising meetings start on Tuesday 9/22/09 and will be weekly for the rest of the semester.

-Nicaragua Project meetings will be on Mondays. Next one: 9/22/09

-EWB-UH got $300 from EAAUH for volunteering for their annual golf tournament. Thanks EAAUH!

First EWB-UH Retreat

On Saturday, 8/15, EWB-UH had our first retreat at Waiamanalo Bay Park.

Lessons learned:
- Event could have used better planning. The day went smoothly but some activities were cancelled.
- Bring water next time.
- Get a camping permit. Nothing happened but we should still have a permit for next time.
- Inform members earlier.

Overall, it was still fun and although Eric and Wayne might never see this, I'd like to thank them for sharing their wisdom with us.
