Fundraising Update

Great News!

In one week, Everest students and parents raised $11,644.00 and brought our participation rate up from 55% to 77%! Sixty-one new families joined the growing number of new donors, thereby earning Everest another $6,100.00 from our ongoing matching donor challenge. Family sponsors supplemented our effort with another $910.00, making our one-week 100% Participation Campaign total reach $18,654. This brings our fundraising efforts, to date, to over $115,600.00; that's close to $400 per student. Remember that our original goal was to raise $150,000.00 and reach 100% participation.

Five mentor groups reached the magical 100% rate. Congratulations go out to the following mentor groups: Giamoni, Herman, Lodhie, Nelson, Moyer and Ponikvar.  They can expect their ice cream sundae party next Wednesday, May 16th, right before early dismissal.

What's Next? There’s Still More We Could Do!

Think about this: we’ve raised  over $115,000, or about $400 per student. Don’t forget that it takes $800 per student to offer intersession, camping trips, study trips, AP courses and the Reikes Center, a short list of some of the enrichment programs offered at Everest.

As the school year draws to a close, we still have time to do even more. Can we keep reaching for a higher participation rate and a higher dollar amount?  I believe we can, and I ask those of you who haven’t already participated to consider being part of this goal.

Here’s what we can still do:

The approximately 30% of our families who haven’t yet participated in our fundraising challenge; would you think about stepping up to support the programs at Everest, at any amount that is affordable to you. Could those families who have donated less than the $800 per student think about giving a little more? Could the 10th grade class step up and raise their participation rate, currently at 61%? As you contemplate all this, please remember that our kids are getting opportunities that usually only private schools can provide, yet we’re expecting our staff to try and achieve this on the amount the state provides, which is just over $6,000 per student. So, please ask yourself if you could do just a little bit more before the end of this school year.

We are excited to have parents involved in school activities to enrich the students' experiences and to build our community. This site is designed to provide you with information and resources...Bookmark this Web site and go ahead, click the links for information and updates!

We have a lot of activities planned...we need your help, involvement and support...we look forward to seeing more of you!
