And here are some bargains for Buddhists, and one for followers of Iyengar yoga: each is £2.99

The Tibetan Book of the Dead (tr Robert A F Thurman)
How to Practise: The Way to a Meaningful Life, by the Dalai Lama
The Heart of the Buddha's Path, also by the Dalai Lama
Light on Life, by B K S Iyengar

Also at £2.99 and mostly well under half their published prices, we have about 20 different P G Wodehouse novels and collections of stories, Alan Clark's autobiography ('I probably have a different sense of morality to most people'), and a number of titles by Doris Lessing, Aldous Huxley, Christopher Isherwood, William Burroughs, Robert Tressell, Kahlil Gibran, Ernest Hemingway, Charles Bukowski and others.

You'll find a number of children's books in this price bracket too.

Also three natural history books of the 'spotters guide' type from Dorling Kindersley, really outstanding books published only three years ago and quite extraordinary value at £2.99. Adults and older children will find them fascinating and extremely informative stocking fillers of the best kind.

Books

There are millions of books in print, most of them printed with ink on paper; some of them 'manufactured on demand' (using toner, not ink) just one copy at a time when somebody orders one; and an increasing number as e-books for reading on e-book readers.

We supply them all. E-books are emailed direct to your email address, and the printed books come to the bookshop the old-fashioned way.

Most of the books that people order come the following day, assuming they are in print. We give a discount of 10% on almost all of them. We can tell you immediately if a book is available for next-day delivery.

Where a book is not available in the UK, we can sometimes supply an American edition. Books take about 21 days to deliver from the US (courtesy of the Swedish Post Office, but let's not go there).

More information about ordering, and our mail order service, is available here.
