Classical CDs

With the arrival on the scene of a new music supplier, we're at last able to supply a broad range of CDs, whether classical, pop, rock, folk or whatever.

With so many excellent recordings made in the 60s, 70s and 80s being released on CD by the major classical recording companies, there are many extraordinary bargains available. The idea that there is something 'wrong' if you have bought a box set of 5 CDs of major works by, say, Bach or Mozart for a mere £12.99 is itself totally fallacious. Your box could include outstanding recordings by the likes of Neville Marriner and the Academy of St Martin in the Fields, Arthur Grumiaux, Andras Schiff, Georg Solti, Vladimir Ashkenazy, Radu Lupu, Julius Katchen …

We've been able to increase the quality and range of the CDs we stock (mostly classical, plus a weakness for Leonard Cohen), as well as being able to offer a customer order service for thousands of albums.

Within a Dream: A Celebration of the Artistry of Richard Hickox is a 2-CD anthology of the extraordinary range of music he recorded with Chandos. £13.99

John Dowland: The Complete Lute Music performed by Nigel North is the set of 4 CDs boxed for the price of 3. So a snip at £14.99 for 4 hours or more of this idyllic music.

Rudolf Kempe's 1955 recording of Brahms' German Requiem with Elisabeth Grümmer and Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau has been re-issued by Naxos at £5.99. The review of this recording in Gramophone was ecstatic.
