Travel Planning

Welcome! This site is your guide to planning your first trip to Europe.  It is for anyone who is part of the public library Europe Travel Club.

You will find three areas to explore: the Destination, the Budget, and the Itinerary.  Within these areas, you will find links that will direct you to external websites for the information you need to plan your trip.  You can think of this site as a webquest, which is educational language for an "inquiry-oriented lesson format in which most or all the information that learners work with comes from the web"  (webquest.org).

What to Do

Your task is to begin planning your trip by using the web resources provided.  Don't let the word task scare you off.  The main goal is for you to develop a travel plan that fits your needs, so there are no strict requirements for being part of this learning experience.  Your only process for completing the task is to explore the links that interest you from each of the areas, starting with the Destination, or for some the Budget, and ending with the Itinerary. Our only hope is that you will come away with the beginnings of your own personal planning guide.

How to Stay Organized

You'll be accessing quite a few websites during this learning experience, so you'll need a way to organize the information you find. You can do so by using a bookmarking website, such as Furl or de.li.cious.  If you want to take notes while exploring, use a simple note-taking website, like shortText, YourDraft, or Google Docs. Or, for those who would like to incorporate pictures and sound in notes, consider using a slideshow with websites like Empressr, Zoho Show, or SlideShare.

When You're Done

When you are done exploring the site, please conclude the quest with a survey on the Conclusion page.
