Journals Holland Maps Contact imjibiATgmailDOTcom | This is the tale of my Bike tour from Gibralta to John O' Groats through Spain, France, Switzerland, Belgium, Holland, England and Scotland. When I came back from South America I had a few medical problems, and so had to see doctors and rest, but after a month I was restless and ready for the road again. So I have decided to stay close to home in case of call back, so Gibralta here I come. Change of Continent Lin is coming to Granda with me to spend a weekend as a tourist looking at the sites. My ex wife Sue and my youngest son Joe come to the airport to see me off. Joe tries to take photos of me getting my bike sorted out and they confiscate his camera. Me and Joe The guard says it is a secure part of the airport and no photos allowed, it is not a digital camera so they cannot just delete the photos. so I complain that there are no signs and they cannot be sure he even got a picture of the machine, but no luck. I get supervisors etc , but still no luck. the flight is due to go so I have to hand over the problem to Sue, she goes to see the airport duty manager and gets the camera back somehow,
The first view of Granada
Granada Spain
Arrived in Granada at midnight due to delayed flight from UK. so what is new, Its midnight and the last bus into town wont take all our luggage and bike boxes ,so we have to get a taxi. In town the hostel is up side streets and so we cannot get all the way there, From where the taxi drops us off I have to shuttle the boxes a few feet at a time and go back, Seems to take for ever to go a couple of hundred metres.
Funky Hostel Granada
The hostel has a room where I can store the boxes for the weekend and Lin and I are taken to another building where our room is. glad I didn't have to take the boxes again ( no Lift and we are on the fourth floor)
The weather a bit warmer than in the UK, and the little bits of the Sierra Nevada we can see are covered in snow, Funky hostel great with amazing views from the breakfast terrace on the roof.
