On Sunday November 1st 2009 it was officially announced that Brenda Halley and Lynn Neely have stepped down from their positions of Youth Leaders. We want to pass on a HUGE thank you to the both of them for their contributions to the youth over the past (too many to count) years.

Brenda and Lynn were also the first inductees of the Youth Group Hall of Fame. Orange youth jerseys with their names on the back were raised to the rafters during the ceremony, which they were later given to take home.

If you have the opportunity: give them a big hug and say "Thank You!"

Here is the speech that was said on Sunday:

Good morning Ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to Eden United Church.

We are honored today to publicly announce and respect our two guests of honor, and their decisions to step down from leadership of our youth group. These two individuals have put countless hours toward Eden’s youth. Their contributions over many years have been invaluable. Please join me in welcoming to the stage Brenda Halley and Lynn Neely.

 

Brenda, Lynn, the youth would like to bestow upon you their highest honor, given only to the leaders who have stood out in their in their roll of leading the youth, and creating an amazing place for them to come and enjoy. Ladies and gentlemen let me introduce to you the first inductees of the Youth Group Hall of Fame.
