If you have funding through the department, as a teaching assistant, or as a research assistant, then you should be on the student health insurance plan. This plan provides you access to the TANG center on Bancroft as well as additional health insurance coverage. Through this plan, you MUST always get a referral from the TANG center to see an outside doctor, otherwise they won't pay. Let me repeat that - ALWAYS GO TO THE TANG CENTER FIRST! There are a few exceptions, like an emergency room visit, or to see a dentist that is covered in our network, but otherwise this rule is set in stone.
