student-led seminars

Each semester there are student-led reading groups or seminars offered in ESPM. Some are "brown-bag" lunches and others are the equivalent of 298 courses. Brown-bag lunches are more casual, and are often cross-departmental (IB, ESPM, ERG). If the seminar is a 298 a faculty member acts as a sponsor (i.e., the instructor on paper) and you sign up for a variable number of units. In the past there have been seminars on: interdisciplinary work, fire science, invasion ecology, wildlife, peer editing, etc.

If you organize and lead a seminar it looks great on your CV.
