Welcome to Española-NEA - Reaching Excellence Together!

Española-NEA has achieved break-through status by winning with 99% of the vote for Classified (Educational Support Personnel - ESP) Employees and 96% of the vote for Certified Employees  the right to engage in Collective Bargaining (CB) as the sole bargaining agent for all Española employees on September the 12th 2007.

Collective bargaining is scheduled to begin with preliminary talks to be held on November 16th and of course further negotiations after that date. We have established this web site to make available to our members and other employees documents and information such as our Constitution and By-Laws, our CBA (Collective Bargaining Agreement) once it is reached, membership enrollment forms, etc.

You can reach us by email at espanola.nea@gmail.com and be sure to check out our Blog for updates, thoughts and commentary. Thank you for your interest in our organization. If you are a member and interested in getting involved please email us. If you are an EPS employee and would like to join, please go to this web page to get a membership form, or contact your Associate Representative. (click here for a list of AR's by building

The document that guides all policy decisions in the district at this time is the School Board Policy if you have any questions about your rights, or the proceedures you are supposed to follow, please consult the School Board Policy. After we have negotiated our first Collective Bargaining Agreement ( CBA) it will reflect what changes have been made, and will define our new responsiblilites and obligations as well as rights. Until the CBA is negotiated, we are governed by the existing School Board Policy.

We have now posted the Constitiution and Bylaws of Española-NEA - Please read and understand them, they explain your rights and obligations as a member, and our obligations to you. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.

You can have a full and complete copy of our newest CBA by clicking on these links 2008-2009 certified CBA and the 2008-2009 ESP CBA with these two modifying Memorandums of Understanding - one having to do with the SAT committee chair people and one having to do with the 2009-2010 school calendar . This memorandum only affects the first week of school making it from last years calendar, the rest of the calendar has to follow last years calendar until we reach agreement or have been through arbitration. This means that there will be the same days off, same days for in-service etc (adjusted for the change by one day for the difference in dates between years - last year school started for teachers on Monday the 11th, this year Monday the 10th etc.)
