feedback from previous programs we are again going to give you the opportunity
to attend three different workshops through the day, and of course there will
be an inspiring keynote address by evangelist (and ESL volunteer!) Gary Weeks.
Some of the different workshops we are planning for the Gathering include: · Conversations that touch the heart · One on One ESL Teaching · Techniques for building a better vocabulary · Pronunciation challenges for specific Languages · Verbs: Tense about Tenses and Teaching them? · Teaching Multi-level classes · Making your Own ESL Bible studies · Using Video to Teach the Bible · Some Administrative Challenges in ESL Programs Yes. Our popular “Getting Started in ESL Ministry” course will once again be offered parallel to the other workshops. Specifically designed for people who have no teaching experience, this course includes sessions on language teaching and learning principles, how to help people pronounce English sounds and sentences, how to help people understand English Grammar and how to start an ESL ministry. Participants in this course will also observe a demonstration of how to lead a conversation class with real students from the community joining us. We look forward to seeing you at Gathering VIII. Online Registration is closed. Please come and register at the door. We regret we will be unable to provide lunch to people who register at the door. There are restaurants nearby and you may bring a bag lunch. Please keep in mind the venue is a nut-free building.
