Eun-sung Kim has, like a nomad, crossed over diverse geographical, academic, and occupational territories.   Since his childhood in a rural village,  he has moved from cities to cities  for his academic and professional career, and  has finally gone so far as to live in most of Korean provinces. He was a chemist with master degree  and yet loved more to learn humanities and social science, eventually turning his career to Science and Technology Studies(STS). Prior to joining  Kyung Hee University in 2013 , he had worked for a chemical company and two governmental policy institutes for  more than 10 years.  It is hard to define his STS identity in that his research is wildly diverse, quite experimental, and theoretically pluralistic.  It looks like a kind of exercising his muscles to test how far and how differently he can go. His drift life, academic crossover, long-term non-academic career, and diverse research interests all allow for a better understanding of social life at large and minorities in particular.  He enjoys kendo, fishing, hiking, and sometimes spending alone in nature.
