Business What can you do with a business degree? Plenty! (The Professional Degree: Business). My intended major when I enter college next is year is going to be business. Business is a field of work that will fit me well and a field where I can excel and be successful. Many people say that majoring in business is the “safe” thing to do but what they do not realize is that business is quite possibly the most practical major out of all of the majors that a person can study. Despite the practicality, business is a major that present endless amount of occupational opportunities and through hard work and dedication can be something that can make you very successful. As a Business Major, your choices will be almost limitless after you graduate (Majoring in Business). With a degree in business, the job market becomes more like supermarket in the sense that you choose just about anything you want in terms of a job. Every occupation is somehow or another tied in with business which makes a person with a business degree heading in the direction of a lucrative and profitable future. Advantages of studying business include, “…the balanced curriculum which includes a mix of liberal arts and business-oriented courses. This combination of courses provides you with the tools, skills, and knowledge for your first job following graduation, while also giving you an opportunity to explore areas of interest” (The Professional Degree: Business). It is clear to see just how many opportunities are present when you study business. With so many options it makes is difficult to not find something that fits you well. Leadership skills are important when it comes to business. In fact, leadership skill can even help you get into college because, “Admissions committees value business applicants who can demonstrate leadership potential” (Majoring in Business: A Guide for High Schoolers). Hard work is one of the main principles if a person wants to be successful in business. If you work hard and get ahead while you are in college it makes it much easier to get a well-paying job because, “there are many companies in the business industry who rely on business school recruiting alone to acquire new employees” (Majoring in Business: A Guide for High Schoolers). Business is a field where you can make good money out of college and move up the ladder in a company through persistence and dedication. With so many skills than can be learned through studying business, it is no wonder why it is the most popular major. After all, “These skills are of high regard by many employers and successfully mastering them could net you a well paying job with an established firm” (Majoring in Business). Business is the major I am most interested in because it ties in every type of work no matter what the industry is. It keeps everything in motion; business is what makes the world go around. It is these aspects, as well as the profitable pay, that have lured me to wanting to study business.
