I teach the students to be leaders in their school and community. Over the last seven years my work as a student council moderator has given me the opportunity to educate and encourage future leaders. I have overseen many student activities such as: Student Council elections, Halloween Haunted Maze, The School Christmas program, The School Variety Show, Penny Wars, and other student council fund raisers.

I teach leadership through example. I lead my students in my social science classes, but I also engage them in current events, debate, critical thinking, and analysis. I allow for independent thought and promote social justice.

I encourage action through peace. For instance, after reading a novel in literature class, I encouraged the students to donate their books to a school that was in need of books.
