Driving down Lansdowne Road in Claremont, you
can’t help but notice it. The lime-green building with red text shouts for your
attention like nothing else in the area.
Why this bright green? Says
eR founder Jeff Block, “Green is for the environment. And bright green is because I want people to see it, to be a
landmark in this neighbourhood.” eR: e-Waste Rescue seeks to be just that– a business connected to the local community. People can come in and drop off their old computers, cell phones, TVs and VCRs knowing that they will be taken care of in a way that is responsible towards the environment and the community. eR was founded in response to a number of growing challenges: the growing digital divide, the need for job creation, and the protection of the environment. eR has four divisions which respond to these various needs: eR– PC Sales, Waste2Art, Toner Exchange, and Movie Props. So if you have an old computer, cell phone, TV, VCR, camera, kettle, washing machine or more, stop by and see eR! |
